has seriously affected television production, with series halting production due to social distancing measures.
But Channel 4 have been thinking outside the box – and who needs a cameraman breaking lockdown when a dog can, apparently, ruff-ly do the same job?with their new show, Snoop Dogs.It has been announced that a new four-part series will see the dogs of some of the UK’s best known faces giving a tour of their abodes, via Go-Pro’s attached to their backs.
As explained by Channel 4’s director of programmes Ian Katz at the Edinburgh TV Controller Session, the ‘barking made new format’ from Northern Ireland-based Stellify Media will see cameras go inside the homes of two celebs each episode during lockdown, with their pooches leading the way.
Sean Doyle, Deputy Head of Features and Formats at Channel 4, said: ‘I didn’t want lockdown to stifle creative conversations and Snoop Dogs is a perfect example of a reactive and outside of the box commission. ‘We’ve come up a wonderfully ridiculous spin on filming in lockdown that only Channel 4 could get away with. We hope families enjoy playing along whilst getting a healthy dose of doggy mischief and celebrities’ lush properties and home interiors.’Considering it’s hard enough to keep dogs in line when they’re on a leash, we’re expecting the pampered pets to be diving into laundry bins, raiding underwear drawers and rifling through snack cupboards.
