A charity boat carrying 41 rescued migrants has docked in an Italian port despite a ban on it doing so.
It comes a week after a different ship, the Sea-Watch 3, forced a landing on Lampedusa after being stranded at sea for two weeks. Its captain, and trying to sink their boat. Italy has been one of the main destinations for migrants attempting to reach Europe via the North Africa route, mostly from Libya. People smugglers often load inflatable dinghies and other craft unsuited to the journey with dozens of people, many of which end up adrift and in need of rescue.
Do we still have refugees/economic migrants crossing the channel in rubber dingies? Or is that not news anymore? Just asking. Do we still have refugees/economic migrants sneaking into the UK in the back of lorries? Just asking.
😂😂😂😂
Soon to be making their way to the uk no doubt
Taxi !
I enjoy the way most people on here (British people say arrest them etc) were the normans, Celtics and Anglo Saxons English then ? Yes I was born in the uk !
I think we should make an area within the UK where refugees could come and make their own country.
Sink it
Hope Salvini arrests the crew and deports the illegals. It's the only way to stop these people from coming.
Hold firm Italy
Take them back
Send it back out to sea to Germany or France they will take anyone as long as the rest of the eu pay for them.
Not charity. It is human trafficking mafia ship..
I wonder how many people have died because they have been told that there are large ships off the coast that will pick them and they will be safe. Get in a small dingy for 4 people stuffed with 50 people, it's ok you'll be safe.
Send it away
'charity ship' = human traffickers... IllegalImmigrants
The wonder of open borders, the migrants and their traffickers know the woefully weak EU will just continue to allow more and more migrants in. There is no political will, yet, to do anything about it. We have already seen some move towards more hard line approaches to migrants.
These people are PeopleTrafficking. Should be arrested, tried, and deported ⚖
Dave, Dave - 76 pizzas please & 2 bottles of coke...
Arest the crew impound the ship and charge the crew with human trafficking we have enough criminals and terrorists in Europe and guess where they will be heading
What ever happened to all the 'women and children'? It's always fighting aged men🤔 Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't take ANY of them.
Punish them to the full extent of the law Matteo.
A few long sentences for the captains will stop any more
The West will never learn.
Loving watching the Russian racist bots having a field day here..... Nigel would be proud of you 🤪
It encourages more to come! Bad decision!
Doesn't say a lot for the Italian navy
Then it should be escorted back out . Harsh , however we cannot have others dictating to a country what they should do .
And within days, we will have MP's protesting about how schools cant cope
migrants in Italy 😂
Criminal ship
Perhaps they should let the migrants disembark - then take the ship out to sea and sink it, so it can't be used again? There's compromise for you.
Illegal immigrants not migrants.
No deterrent to these illegals. They are aren't interested in Italy only Britain
If you think illegal migrants (and the genuine refugees among them) are a problem, then it's best if we stay with the EU so we can work together to handle this 'crisis', instead of losing the right to put them back in the first EU country they landed in. If not, good. 🙃
As long as the war in the middle east continues with no UN major intervention and regime change this is only going to continue to worsen. So either the EU lets them in or wage an all out assault on the Middle East.
Impound the ship and jail the owners for people trafficking.
*illegal immigrants Fixed that for you.
Plenty of places to land before Italy
