New gluten-free cafe to open - with a car meet on the first day

A new cafe that's 100 percent gluten-free is opening this weekend just in time for the launch of a car meet. Brew and Bakes is located next to Wilford Lane Garage and Autocentre in West Bridgford - and used to be the reception.

"I used to visit Hartley's on a daily basis when I was at college as it was the only place that had gluten-free options - that was part of the inspiration for this. Everything at Brew and Bakes is gluten-free and 100 percent coeliac safe although you won't be able to tell by the taste of it." Matthew James will be there for the opening day showing off his new Craving Crust trailer. He will be serving gluten-free pizzas from noon. The Calverton bathroom fitter launched the business from his home after struggling to find a decent pizza to suit his dietary needs after being diagnosed with coeliac disease in December 2022.
