A new purpose built facility in Mansfield supporting men who are struggling with their mental health is opening next year and will be the first of its kind in the East Midlands. Cygnet Hospital Sherwood, due to open in early 2024, will have 44 beds and will be an extension to the existing Cygnet Health Care site that includes Cygnet Sherwood House and Cygnet Sherwood Lodge.
The hospital will also bring more than 100 new jobs to the area and see further investment by Cygnet in the local economy. Lee Hammon, Cygnet’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are excited to be opening our first PICU/Acute service for men in the East Midlands region. This new service will further help commissioners to reduce out of area placements.”
