I'll save the details. But there I was, living what's supposed to be one of life's best moments, all the while I was mentally reliving one of my worst.Instead of an unconditional desire to protect her, there was a desire to run away.I felt that I didn't deserve this family. But, instead of running, like I so much wanted to do, I talked. The pressure was getting released, and the more that the pressure was being released, the calmer and better I felt for opening up.
Holding my hand up and saying"I regretted the birth of my daughter and I didn't love her" may have opened me up to criticism and judgement, but it helped me, and many others, to realise that feelings don't define you. People always ask me what my advice is for any father going through post-natal depression, and I'm always a little hesitant as to what to say.
More often than not, the best thing for anyone with a mental health issue is to seek help and talk about how you feel.I try to treat it in the same way I would a physical issue. People have no problem saying"I have a sore knee today" but they're much more reluctant to say"I just want to sit in the corner and cry".
Bollocks, I'm sorry but when you hold that perfect little person who has come from you and you're partner it is a feeling like no other.

Wah Wah Wah, all you did was carry a life for 9 months, get your hormones smashed about, push an object far to big for your vagina through it. What about me I had to put in 3 minutes hard work at conception.
What a knobhead🤣🤣. More like sulking because his wife was busy with a newborn rather than pat his back.

I feel sorry for that poor child.
The comments here are pathetic. Even if the man did not have post natal depression he definitely felt something. It is this man's experience and people are denying his experience because he is male. Some young fathers struggle coping being a new parent. I think this is the point.
Take a Xanax and a nap. Am sure if he had had a son, he would feel differently.
Just stop it skynews your a joke of a news channel. Men cannot get post natal depression so why are you taking more and more important physical emotions from women by the day. Your a disgrace 🤬🤬
He got depressed and felt low. So did I when I thought I was going to loose my daughter and wife. He didn’t have post natal wow I feel for you women.
Pillock
This is NOT post-natal depression. This is ptsd that was a result of an emergency delivery. Men CAN'T get post-natal depression. Its an insult to all women who like my own mum suffered from this. Call it something else BUT NOT POST-NATAL DEPRESSION. IT'S AN INSULT. STOP IT
