Plans have been submitted for a large new building at Jaguar Land Rover in Halewood as part of the company’s move towards all electric production.
According to documents submitted to Knowsley Council as part of the planning application, the new structure will “allow JLR to increase its production capacity for new model lines” – specifically as the car giant gears towards only producing electric cars at the site.The company announced in April its plans to go all-electric with a £15bn investment to aid the transformation.
The building will house four cranes to collect and position car bodies as they enter via a conveyor belt.
