Netflix confirms surprise price rise for Brits – but not everyone is affected

Some customers will now be seeing higher prices – but not everyone4:57 pmIt means that people signing up for Netflix may soon see prices higher than those everyone else will pay.In a statement sent to, Netflix said: "We are testing slightly different prices to better understand how members value Netflix."Our goal is to ensure that Netflix is always great value for money."

It was the biggest price rise for the company since it launched 12 years ago, but a Netflix spokesperson told The Sun that the price wouldn't affect UK customers – at the time, anyway."Netflix consistently rolls out price hikes whenever they can, so it’s highly likely they will roll out another hike globally," Michael Pachter, of Wedbush Securities, told us.

He added that the average revenue for Netflix in the USA is $11.15 for September last year, while the rest of the world pays $8.69 on average. He said this is because household incomes are typically smaller outside of the US "so purchasing power is lower, and it's harder to charge the same amount".Netflix boosted the cost of an annual UK subscription to £7.99 per monthAnd the premium plan rose from £8.99 to £9.99 every month, tacking on an additional £12 to customers' bills.

They’re doing the same in USA. Greed knows no bounds...FUCK NETFLIX! “Netflix posted its largest-ever U.S. profit in 2018—$845 million—on which it didn’t pay a dime in federal or state income taxes. In fact, the company reported a $22 million federal tax rebate.”- ITEP

I’ll cancel mine, cheers NetflixUK
