Last time I queued for the Nemesis at Alton Towers we got turned away after 40 minutes because it had stopped working. Just days later and theme park bosses announced the sudden closure of the roller coaster , much to the dismay of fans. After almost 30 years, carrying more than 52 million people, the ride and its tired track were desperately in need of a revamp. This weekend the upgraded coaster - Nemesis Reborn - has roared back to life as the attraction opens for a new season.
