The prime minister is expected to announce a rise in national insurance payments to fund social care, despite this being a breach of the 2019 Tory manifesto.
Both newspapers said national insurance is the favoured approach but there are varying reports of how much the rise could be.
Just keep putting taxes up and then continue to waste money in the NHS and social care black hole. I’m sure the additional burden of excessive immigration is playing it’s part !

It is a mistake - or rather a deliberate ruse - to argue that extra NHS spending has to be paid out of a rise in tax. Spending on the NHS generates economic activity (the NHS buys goods and services, staff spend their pay), which then raises more tax anyway.

Manifestos need to be a legally binding document. They can't say they will/ won't do something then go against it. Eventually people need to be held accountable for lying in elections

We already get stung for additional payment for social care in our council tax bills!! Of course its only those of us that actually work and who pay council tax that have to stump up for this. Enough now. Close all the tax loop holes for the likes of Amazon and google!!!
I've always believed real leaders found solutions to the many problems we face not create even more of them. That manifesto must be falling apart at the seams.

First I want to see which Tory donors got billions for PPE.
No money for social care but £100bn for trident renewal, £37bn for an app that doesn't work, countless billions on dodgy contracts for their mates, billions for vanity projects like hs2. The working person gets shafted again.
Seems like a no brainer really. If what we usually put in via National Insurance keeps the NHS ticking over through the normal times, obviously there is going to be a massive deficit that needs to be paid for after a pandemic.
