The plan is pending consideration by Nottingham City Council

The National Ice Centre in Nottingham is planning to add new food and drinks offerings for visitors to the city's biggest venue. The centre hopes to set up three fast food eateries and a container bar on Bolero Square, where guests can enter the twin Olympic-sized ice rink and Motorpoint Arena.

Part of the 2,500 square metre area would be taken up by the new concession stands, which would serve visitors for 100 days a year. According to planning documents submitted by the National Ice Centre, one of these outlets would serve pizza and another would serve burgers. The scheme, if approved by Nottingham City Council, is expected to create 10 part-time jobs. In an application form, a representative for the National Ice Centre said: "The application is for the permanent positioning of three fast food outlets and one container bar."These units will only be operational for approximately 100 days a year to allow patrons of the arena to purchase food and drink during functions." .

Martin Ingham, chief executive of the Nottingham City Council-owned Motorpoint Arena and National Ice Centre complex, previously outlined his ambition that one day the area would have its own business convention centre, a third ice rink and another car park.
