A mother who Nadine Dorries lived with during the filming of a Channel 4 reality show that documented life for struggling families has spoken of her “disgust” after the MP claimed that paid actors were pretending to be poor ⬇️

‘Nadine Dorries lived with me for a poverty documentary she claimed was full of actors – but I’m very real’

At the time, that amount was the weekly jobseekers’ allowance, a benefit that has since been replaced by universal credit. “She had a terrible attitude. She looked down her nose at us. She said, ‘When we were kids we didn’t have flat-screen TVs’. I said, ‘My kids aren’t lucky because they have a telly on the wall.'”

Ms Spaine, who believed that the MP was referring to her family, described suggestions that some of those featured in the show were actors left her feeling “insulted”. Rena Spaine and her sister put up Nadine Dorries for a week during the Channel 4 reality TV show Tower House of Commons
