'My beautiful baby was born inside out and needed five ops to put her bowel back in'

LITTLE Mollie Lambert looks picture-perfect now but it has been a long, hard road for the one-year-old, who was born “inside out”.

“She had a full head of hair, and I fell in love with her immediately. But I didn’t manage to see her for long before she was whisked away. I couldn’t see exactly what was wrong. It was a horrible, scary time.” “But when I was told something was wrong with the baby, I was devastated. Gastroschisis was mentioned but I had no clue what it was.

Amie was induced a few weeks early and Mollie was born on February 8 last year, weighing 6lb 2oz. Amie says: “Apart from Mollie’s flash of hair, I didn’t see much before she was taken from me to get wrapped in a clear bag from her neck down to avoid infection.
