Neither ITV nor Fremantle put out a statement about the incident, and Spraggan says the medical care and support she received was limited and dropped away after the man was ultimately convicted and sentenced to ten years in prison. Spraggan, who like all rape victims had lifelong anonymity which she has now chosen to waive, said she had been previously discouraged from coming forward sooner about her experience because she “wouldn’t be able to retract it” and fears it would define her career.
“Since then, we have done our very best to learn lessons from these events and improve our aftercare processes.”
