More officers are being deployed onto the streets as The Met gears up to deal with people enjoying greater freedoms.

’s murder rate has reached a three year high with 18 people killed in the capital so far this year alone, despite the country being in lockdown.

Formal identification hasn’t yet taken place but she’s thought to be Anna Ovsyannikova, 48. Curtis Brown, also 48, has been charged with murder. The Met has pledged to put more officers on the street as lockdown eases but many fear the end of the restrictions is going to make matters worse. ‘There is a major problem with gangs and youth violence in London and sadly I think it is going to get very naughty.

Services such as youth clubs and anti-violence classes in schools have also not been able to take place because of the pandemic.
