Mum thought daughter was dead after XL bully attack in Greater Manchester street

It's almost inconceivable that two photographs taken of Amelia Bird taken a year apart are depicting the same young girl. One shows a six year old Amelia in hospital, her tiny body riddled with over 30 gruesome injuries, a result of an attack by a group of suspected XL Bully dogs.

Jade, 33, and husband Lee, 36, moved with Amelia and sister Lara, 10, to a new neighbourhood in Carrington, Greater Manchester, when Jade was expecting their third daughter, Bonnie. Amelia fell in and out of consciousness as her family drove her to hospital. "They rushed her straight to A&E. They cut her clothes off and it was then when we saw how horrific and harrowing her injuries were. Chunks of her skin and flesh had gone," her mum said.

She said: "The victim gave an extremely clear and strong description of the man and the dogs so police were made clear it was Valentine. If the police had done something and arrested him then, then this wouldn't have happened to Amelia but it just seems they have shoved this under the rug. They just let him get away with it.Amelia has been on the waiting list for counselling for more than a year. Her mum has launched a Go Fund Me campaign for private sessions.
