Mum sues NHS for millions after daughter was born disabled when scans missed that part of her brain was missing

A child was born disabled and unable to laugh after NHS scans failed to spot part of her brain was missing, a court heard.

Tragic Emily ‘s condition makes it impossible for her laugh - though the can manage a smile, London’s High Court heard. London’s High Court heard Mrs Shaw at first believed Emily was a healthy infant until she began choking and suffering seizures aged two weeks. “We try to keep her as healthy as possible but she gets a lot of chest infections which have taken a lot of kids’ lives.”
