Mum shocked when charged £68 for daughter’s Claire’s Accessories ear piercing

A MUM who took her daughter to get her ears pierced at Claire's Accessories was shocked when she was charged a total of £68 for the service.

Visiting the store in Princes Quay, Hull, Joanna was told she didn't need to make an appointment and was handed a board of earrings to choose from while they waited in line. "At this point Jasmine was starting to get nervous, so my focus was on her and not on the price," Joanna continued. "But we still weren't given any guidance.

"She could tell I was shocked, but as she didn't go on to tell me about any cheaper options, I assumed the prices for all the earrings must have been similar. So I found myself muttering 'that's fine'."

Took my granddaughter to Superdrug so much cheaper and professional,prices at side of earring and free solution! And they put the back of the earring on looser than Claire’s to allow for lobe swelling,3 weeks in and they’ve healed beautifully and only cost £18

When I took my daughter the prices weren't on the board with the earrings but there was a price list on display explaining different prices for different metals and stones. Not stores fault. Your not going to get real gold earrings and the piercing done for £20 to £30 are you

Not news she should have asked questions first. Her fault. Shop should display prices tho. I'd rather be embarrassed asking the price and refusing than buying something I couldn't afford. Lesson learnt' for the lady I'm sure.

So, to recap, she says she; - didn't check any of the prices beforehand - didn't ask about the prices at all - picked her earring choice blindly ...and reckons the shop is at fault somehow?

So that's where Jimmy Hill's illegitimate daughter ended up.
