Jessica's mum has called on Netflix to ban the show 13 Reasons Why, claiming it promotes self-harm
"All Jessica's friends were messaging each other discussing the series. Parents should be warned not to let their children watch it."Paramedics found she had the letters RIP written on her heel in pen and cut marks to her leg. The care support worker from Leigh, Greater Manchester, said: "Suicide is a big problem and needs to be discussed. I fully support this campaign."

As a parent who lost a child to suicide I can empathise, how ever parents need to monitor what a 12cyear old watches, and same goes to the MEDIA children should not be allowed Facebook or Instagram

You cant blame a TV show when u wasnt controlling what your child watches they have parent controls. And it's easy to blame someone else for a tragedy just a shame a young girl didnt get the help and support she needed

Theres too much content freely available. You cant police it fully. Whilst very sad it's not something you can blame Netflix for or the writers. Cannot understand why a 13 year old would do this. 🤔😞

Absolute tragedy, but the parent should have supervised her child better. There are parental controls on Netflix, that would have stopped this appearing on her daughters film list.
Very sad and unfortunate. It's a stark reminder of the dangers that children face in this treacherous world. Parents have a duty of care to protect children from their own harmful tendencies. Better to deny them and upset them than to lose them in such tragic circumstances.
