A mother-of-two tragically died after she got lost and strayed onto a motorway while walking home from a night out.
Police who investigated discovered the driver only spotted Karen at the last moment in the darkness and was unable to stop in time. She had vodka and lager at a friend’s house before going to the Poacher pub in Birchwood, the hearing was told.Friend Kirsty McNulty said she and Karen never made it into the pub as Karen lost her footing on a kerb and fell over just across the road.
