A brother known for being the ‘life and soul of the party’ is being remembered on the anniversary of his death.
The Wirral mum-of-two recalled how nobody “saw the signs of suicide” with her older brother, Colin, who was 27 when he died. Now, Holly is working towards highlighting how “suicide is never that far away”.READ MORE: Marks & Spencer's 'warm & cosy' £35 knitted dress is 'the perfect length' Holly is the brains behind Blooming Mind - a Wallasey-based charity that prides itself on transforming workplaces into “nurturing environments” that champion mental health and well-being. Holly, the founder and director, hopes through her service “a lasting positive change” will be created and felt throughout Merseyside and beyond in honour of her brother.
This Christmas will mark 20 years since Colin’s death and in memory, Holly alongside Mike Skeggs - the business partner of Drew Cockton who also took his own life - is hosting an LGBTQ+ suicide prevention event. Held at the former Garlands venue, on Eberle Street, on Thursday, November 23 at 5pm, the meeting aims to create an open dialogue for members of the community.
