Mum and step-dad of missing Jay Slater: Cruel trolls told us 'he's been found'

At 7.05am this morning Debbie Duncan did up her seatbelt before her TUI plane taxied away from Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport.

Jay, an apprentice bricklayer at Accrington and Rossendale College, had gone to Tenerife with his friends Lucy and Brad to attend the three-day NRG music festival. But on Monday morning he was reported missing after failing to return to their hotel room.Jay, who was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, shorts and trainers and carrying a black bag, had called his friend Lucy at around 8.50am on Monday to tell her that he was planning on walking back to their resort.

"So many people have got in touch via Facebook," Andy, 63, told LancsLive at the family home in Oswaldtwistle. "Loads have been sharing Debbie's posts and every mum who has a child out there has gone to help." "Some people have been posting on Facebook 'I believe he's been found' which isn't helpful. Debbie has been getting mixed messages and that's only added to the worry."
