The dress code for Parliament’s new remote proceedings will only apply to the top half of the body, an MP joked today.Labour

Announcing Labour’s support for the motion, Ms Vaz said: ‘I think, Mr Speaker, that you suggested that there might be a dress code for the house and certainly what goes on behind in terms of animals and children and wallpaper and all that, as we’ve seen. It will cost £148,793 to set up the system and around £370,000 per month to maintain it, according to the Commons clerk.
