Without pointing fingers or implying anything, I think your stop and search data is incomplete. The full picture should include how many offences per stop have been identified as a result of those stops. This should tell you if the trend it's justified.

If there was a drug or knife crime problem in our area, I’d expect the police to do something about it, I’d also expect the “community” to help them get rid of it. If this involved stop and question, fair enough, I’d cooperate fully however often, as most sensible people would.

I think you'll find the police stoped a vehicle, not the occupants. It's a small detail but quite important. You stop the vehicle, then you discover who the occupants are. PNC has vehicle and owner details. These are not necessarily driver details.

What we need, right now, is the body cam footage to be released of the officers. They want it released, so release it! Otherwise, the officers should sue for defamation, and ensure the body cam footage is requested in court.
