Morrisons has announced that it will donate 75,000 lunches to children in need, as England footballerThe supermarket chain says it will hand out 15,000 lunches every weekday over half term, after the Government refused to extend free school meals over the autumn break.star’s initiative, which has seen countless businesses, local authorities and organisations nationwide join the effort to fight ‘holiday hunger’ amid the coronavirus crisis.

Morrisons said it was also offering customers the option to support the effort by buying their own ‘Pick Up Packs’, which will also be distributed to young people.was approaching 900,000 signatures this afternoon, piling further pressure on the Government to U-turn over its decision not to extend free school meals over the holiday, with Labour promising another vote.

The 22-year-old questioned Boris Johnson’s willingness to engage with him on the issue, suggesting they had not spoken since the Government’s U-turn on providing food vouchers during the summer break in June.
