Morrisons expects the scheme to dispense 350,000 food boxes in 2020, which it claims will reduce CO2 emissions by 882 tonnes – the equivalent of driving from London to Edinburgh 5,351 times. WRAPLike many supermarkets, Morrisons has pledged to reduce operational food waste by 50 per cent by 2030.
Great that it’s doing this and well done to the Independent for writing about it. Just an editorial note that the app isn’t new though. 👍
I find stores in Canada are taking advantage of this outdated food scheme and bringing it in and selling it at regular market value. It’s rampant in stores owned by Chinese.
