Morrisons make major change after Queen's death

Supermarket chain Morrisons has turned off all music and tannoy announcements in their stores out of respect for the Queen.

Following Queen Elizabeth II's death, the United Kingdom has taken part in national mourning. Businesses, broadcasters and supermarkets have all paid their respects in different ways including pulling programming and closing for bank holidays. Supermarket giant Morrisons has also paid tribute to the Queen as they've made a major change to their in-store experience. Rumours surfaced their self-checkout tills were made silent but a spokesperson for the chain said that was not the case.Harriet Rodgers, a member of the Morrisons Press Office team, told the Liverpool Echo the "beeps" have remained, but out of a sign of respect, they have been turned down.

Morrisons was unable to indicate when their stores would return to normal, but the national period of mourning will end on September 19th - the date of the Queen's funeral. Comments have been turned off for this article but you can leave your tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in this online memorial .
