MORRISONS is set to close four stores in a move that puts roughly 400 jobs at risk.
Last month, Morrisons’ market share stood at 10.1 per cent compared to fifth-placed Aldi’s 8.1 per cent. Morrisons said the decision to close branches was made after a review of the performance of its 494 stores. The supermarket couldn't say when the shops will close as it's just started a consultation process, which is expected to last for 45 days.
A Morrisons spokesperson said: "As we continue to focus on building a broader, stronger Morrisons we are constantly reviewing opportunities for new stores and the performance of our existing estate.
4 Stores out of how many......
Maybe if all these multinational companies stop opening more and more stores and concentrated on what they have in their local stores , with cheaper prices and better service .... this wouldn't happen !!! JustSaying
You should add Minehead Morrisons store is a bloody shambles run by a manager so far out of her depth it’s unreal and no I don’t work there.
