There has been a vote already and the people decided. The issue here is the pathetic negotiating over the last two years by our government. Stop blaming those who democratically voted and start blaming a government that couldn't or wouldn't execute against that.
Where were these diplomats in calling for any referendum over Maastricht or Lisbon Treaties. Never want one when handing powers to the EU but only if we leave.

The only people who support a second referendum are those who lost the first one. A divisive and deeply undemocratic proposal. Why should we listen to calls for a second referendum from people who, by definition, don’t accept the result of referendums?
'A total of 43 ex-ambassadors and high commissioners' .. Of course they have. Europhiles the lot of them. How many more referendums they want? Best of 3? Best of 5? Or just until they get the result they want?
I am of the opinion that 17.4 million beats 40 retired diplomats.
