THIS is the dramatic moment the Dayton gunman is shot dead by hero cops as he sprays bullets at screaming revellers killing nine.
But the harrowing footage shows how quick-thinking first responders prevented a bloodbath - shooting Betts just as he was about to enter a packed bar.Scores of terrified people had crammed into the venue just seconds earlier as the attack unfolded on the street outside. But Betts was stopped in his tracks as at least three officers fired a fatal hail of bullets - bringing him down at the doorway.
The warped gunman was a familiar face at another bar southeast of Dayton in Bellbrook - a short drive from his home.
