Missed chances and sloppy defending proved costly for Nottingham Forest as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur .
It could have been 2-1 to the visitors soon after. Wood hit the post from close-range when the ball fell for him after a shot from Yates was parried by Vicario. Elanga then fired straight at the Spurs stopper, while the first half ended with Yates arguing he was jabbed in the stomach by James Maddison on the edge of the Reds’ penalty area.
Neco Williams: Lovely link-up with Elanga for Wood’s goal. Defensively, though, Spurs got a fair bit of joy down that flank as Timo Werner proved tricky to handle. Rating: 5.5/10 Ola Aina: Had some good moments going forward in the first half once the visitors had settled down. Forest afforded Spurs too much time and space for the goals, though. Rating: 6/10
Anthony Elanga: Set up Wood for the equaliser with a nice bit of play. Such moments were more of a rarity in the second half once Spurs had put the game to bed. Rating: 6.5/10 Chris Wood: The front man cannot stop scoring. A lovely finish to make it four goals in four games. Was agonisingly close to getting another, and then it could have been a different game. Rating: 6.5/10Divock Origi : Couldn’t really make a difference, although it was tricky given Forest were facing an uphill battle by then. Rating: 5.5/10
