Millions of households across the country had been relying on the cost of living payments from both the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Millions of households across the country had been relying on the cost of living payments from both the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). Over the past year, eligible claimants on means-tested benefits received a total of £900 in tax-free payments, providing much-needed financial support .

People on disability benefits were also eligible for a £150 one-off payment, while pensioners were given a payment of up to £300 alongside their Winter Fuel Payment. However, the last payments were handed out in February, and there has been no mention of any future payments given by the chancellor.
