After clinching a fourth successive Premier League title in 2023/24, Manchester City's aim for 2024/25 will be clear: make it five in a row.
As far as incomings are concerned, City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has already hinted that this summer may not be as exciting in previous years. With that in mind, MEN Sport's team of writers have had their say on what this summer's window could realistically look like at the Etihad Stadium. Bernardo Silva, as is so often the case at this time of year, is being linked with an exit, as is De Bruyne. If either of those two leave, they will need replacing with a midfielder. Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes has been heavily linked with a move to City, but he is a different type of midfield operator to both De Bruyne and Silva.
As for midfielders, Bruno Guimaraes is the Premier League's stand-out well-rounded option but will take some effort to prise Newcastle from their star man. If looking for an option with attacking flair to do the job of Silva or Grealish, then go all out for the future of German football, Florian Wirtz. He has been linked with a move to the Premier League or Real Madrid, and with good reason.
In terms of incomings, Michael Olise would be a smart addition to the Sky Blues’ attack after his impressive rise at Crystal Palace. Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich should also be evaluated, having reportedly expressed a desire to move on from the German club this summer.
