The news comes as after reports of 'a blizzard' predicted to hit the UK in the coming days.
For this week's weather forecast across the region, a Met Office spokesperson told Belfast Live: "It’ll be cloudy through the early part of the week in Northern Ireland, with some light showers drifting into western areas on Monday and Tuesday."By Wednesday, winds will start to pick up for Northern Ireland, especially in northern and western coastal areas with gusts in excess of 50 knots possible in exposed areas, and fairly breezy inland.
"This will be accompanied in the second half of Wednesday with some more persistent rain for the vast majority of Northern Ireland, as a cold front pushes south. "As we move towards the weekend a westerly pattern is looking most likely, with some breezy conditions and showers likely filtering in from the west at times on Saturday and Sunday, with most in the way of cloud."For all the latest news, visit the Belfast Live homepage here.
