Ahead of King Charles' Coronation last year, there was much speculation about whether or not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be among the 2,200 attendees at the Westminster Abbey event. For months leading up to the coronation, royal experts, sources and even Oprah Winfrey publicly debated whether we'd see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex take their seat with the rest of the royals at the momentous occasion.
Palace insiders told The Mirror that Harry spent weeks chatting to aides after signalling his intention to travel to the UK. Royal sources added to the publication that the signs were there for Meghan to skip the Coronation as she was seemingly upset about their children's exclusion from the ceremony.

Another source said palace staffers were “cheered that the circus wasn’t coming to town”, while someone else expressed sympathy for Meghan saying: “She is very much damned is she does and damned if she doesn’t. As a mother she’s probably doing the right thing by her young children which should be applauded.”
More than 2,000 guests gathered at the Abbey on May 6 to witness the nation's first coronation for 70 years, with foreign dignitaries including First Lady Jill Biden.
