Sadiq Khan said he is 'seriously concerned' about the prospect of flash floods in London

But rain is forecast for the capital next week, and dry ground absorbs water more slowly, leading to fears of flash flooding.

Sadiq Khan voiced his concern about a repeat of the scenes in London last July, in which flash floods damaged thousands of homes and the city’s transport network. Speaking to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, Mr Khan said: “We are coordinating with councils what we’d do if that [flooding] was to happen.

“But let’s be frank, a city like London is not ready for the consequences of climate change and we’ve got to get ready.”

So what are you doing about it?

We are furious he masquerades as Mayor.

Amazes me people voted for this prick.

He should be seriously concerned with stabbings, burglaries and muggings in London and let nature takes it’s course with weather

It never rains but pours for the Mayor. Maybe ask Thames Water, they must have an emergency flood defence in place for the capital. Oh and also ask them when the hosepipe ban is?

He should be seriously concerned with stabbings, burglaries and muggings in London and let nature takes it’s course.

You are moaning that there is a drout. Now you are moaning of too much water to come?

But the daily stabbings go unchecked

Too hot, too wet. God we're never happy.
