Maura Higgins compared to Grease's Sandy with new curly hair makeover

She may have established her signature hairstyle as sleek dark brunette look in the Love Island villa, but Maura Higgins has been spotted with a vastly different ‘do – and fans are comparing her to an iconic movie character as a result.

The look – which was created by hairstylist Carl Bembridge – is strikingly similar to Grease character Sandy after she has her “glow up” in the movie, something that some of her millions of Instagram followers were quick to point out. Fans of Love Island will remember that Maura appeared on the fifth season of the show, eventually coupling up with Curtis Pritchard, with the couple going on to place fourth in the final. However, the pair called it quits in the real world some months later.

Instagram She’s now dating Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice, and shared a loved-up photo of the couple the same week as she debuted her “Sandy vibes” look.
