Matt Hancock says NHS staff death toll at 19 amid PPE row

The health secretary, Matt Hancock, has revealed that 19 UK health workers have died after contracting coronavirus, amid further backlash over his request that NHS staff do not overuse protective equipment.

A bit like the official death toll of the Chernobyl disaster which is 31, apparently. What you get from an authoritarian state with state controlled media.

It's 26 not 19. Please report facts not fiction.

If you think about this in the context of a corporation; employees dying due to unpreparedness, would be criminal negligence.

AaronWala please scrutinize the numbers while publishing them, are there not 27 NHS workers who have died as of today? Or is that fake news?

Half a million gloves can fit in one of these vans . Why are they not utilising all the volunteers with vans to deliver . It’s not a question of logistics, it’s the harvest of not sowing early enough .

19 deaths might seem a small figure, but it means 19 families, minimum of 19 covid patients and 19 Covid Unit staffs. The least we can do is to protect them and us by stayathome.

The government failed to properly plan.They did not involve the right experts nor did they listen to the calls for support from NHS staff. Criminal.

Can somebody confirm 100% that the number of 19 is accurate? Other numbers have been suggested. It's vitally important that we know with absolute certainty what the figure is, as these incredible people have lost their lives saving others.
