The health secretary honoured all NHS staff who have ‘paid the ultimate price’ at a Downing Street briefing today

The health secretary came out of coronavirus isolation on Thursday to give a heartfelt speech honouring NHS workers who have ‘paid the ultimate price’ to ‘defeat the invisible killer’ – noting that many were people who came to this country to make a difference and they did’. ‘I am profoundly moved by the compassion and the commitment that we are seeing from people right across the country, and in the health and care system we have lost colleagues too.‘Living legend’ Dr Alfa Saadu died on Tuesday after testing positive for coronavirus‘Doctors, nurses, mental health professionals: they have paid the ultimate price for their service – working to care for others.

Dr Alfa Saadu, 68, became one of the the latest NHS workers to die on Tuesday after battling the virus for two weeks.

Every minute⏳counts as delay in testing will cost more innocent lives lost due to our incompetent Tory government undercutting NHS resources for the past decade or so. They continue to refuse to purchase sufficient life saving ventilators , testing kits & protection gear.

Only 0.16%(2000 out of half a million workforce) NHS staff has been tested so far,they should be given priorities to be tested right away within a fortnight realistically but definitely not till the end of April!!

Hospitals urged to use lab space to test NHS staffThe advice comes as the government faces growing criticism over a lack of testing for frontline staff. In all fairness the NHS only had three months to prepare for this. Seriously, are any NHS staff at home self diagnosed and self isolating going to go there with the prospect of being tested negative and then being immediately sent to the front line. Instead of being home with a 'cold' and watching Netflix? So there know going to blame the hospitals for not doing the tests on staff.
