I don't want to remember the end of an empire, the loss of Britain's pride, I remember the fallen comrades and our heros, but there's no glory in it.. Nobody won..

On the BBC news channel at 1400 you mentioned the number of British casualties at the Battle of Arnhem. You did not say that the battle also included the 1st Independent Parachute Brigade (Poland). No wonder we thinks only the British were involved in WWII.

BattleOfArnhem LestWeForget

An over ambitious British plan that was undermined by the lack of supplies due to the American broad front strategy and where the 1st Airborne were dropped too far from their objective. It was a case of what should have been not what might have been - the war ending in 1944.

So hard to imagine what these people went through fighting that war!

Is it really necessary?

Yep, to free Europe from a morally corrupt Empire and Undemocratic German dictator. Only to be replaced by a morally corrupt Undemocratic German led Empire. Irony abounds does it not

A too far bridge.

MarketGarden A Bridge Too Far

Or maybe we should go and do it again...

They died all those years ago, in vain! We have now handed the keys over to the EU, full submission
