Mason Greenwood has reportedly been given the go-ahead to sign for Juventus - five years on from their first "life-changing" attempt to buy him from Manchester United.
Those were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service 13 months later, allowing Greenwood to return to professional football in Spain. His performances there, with 10 goals and six assists across 36 games in all competitions, attracted significant transfer attention from around Europe.READ MORE: Mason Greenwood FFP problem looms as Man United must avoid transfer banana skin
Greenwood's representatives are said to have indicated the club are his preferred choice in the transfer window, giving the Italian giants the green light to make an approach. Personal terms are believed to have already been agreed upon. Before securing Greenwood's signature, Juventus need to offload Federico Chiesa or Matias Soule, both of whom have been linked with a move away from the Italian giants towards Roma. Soule, 21, is also reportedly attracting interest from Premier League clubs such as Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Tottenham.
