Emily in Paris might be trending at the moment, but Martine McCutcheon is giving her a run for her money with a French-inspired haircut of her own.
The Love Actually star debuted the look on Instagram, sparking delight from her 500k followers. It’s clear from the selfie that Martine has got rid of quite a few inches from her hair’s length, with the new style now falling just below her chin instead of down towards her waist.“Oh it really does suit you. I keep thinking of going back to a bob with a fringe but having hot flushes means my fringe will be stuck to my forehead,” commented one very honest follower.
So why is Martine calling her look French-inspired? “French girl hair” was a major cut and colour trend in 2021, and it’s set to continue into 2022. Essentially, the term means short and glossy brunette hair, inspired by looks you’d find on the fashionable streets of Paris. French Glossing, the latest in-salon innovation from L’Oréal Professionnel, has also just launched and is set to give brunettes a glossy boost. The two-step technique involves permanent hair colour being applied at the roots and a gorgeous gloss being added on the lengths and ends. The result should be a seamless light-reflective colour that screams “Parisian chic”.
Earlier this week, former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague showed off her own take on the French-influenced bob trend. The 22 year old, who has just returned from a romantic mini break to New York with her boyfriend Tommy Fury, chopped off around four inches of length in a chic transformation.10/10/10/10/10,” commented her pal Steph Lam, while Jess Wright said: “Obsessed”.A second added: “Looking beautiful Molly, that hair length really suits you.
