Mark Wahlberg 's latest film will be flying into theaters this fall, with Lionsgate setting an October 18 release date for Flight Risk.
Wahlberg - who shared a heartfelt message to his late mother Alma and his wife Rhea on Mother's Day - will play a pilot in the new film. As of now, the film, directed by Mel Gibson, will go up against Paramount's Smile 2 and Searchlight Pictures' A Real Pain with Kieran Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg The script from Jared Rosenberg landed on The Black List in 2020, the annual list of most-liked unmade scripts from that year.
The film started production in June 2023, and was one of several projects to receive a SAG-AFTRA waiver for filming to continue during the writer and actor strikes.
