Latest Liverpool news as former Nottingham Forest referee analyst Mark Clattenburg has revealed what advice he gave the East Midlands club after their loss to the Reds in March

Mark Clattenburg has revealed what he told Nottingham Forest officials in the wake of their controversial drop ball incident against Liverpool in March.

And Forest's former 'referee analyst' has opened up on what he told the East Midlands club after what happened against Liverpool. Clattenburg told Forest to keep hold of the ball in future when it comes to drop balls. “That was a sporting edge for Forest and something I was able to advise on, but at the minute I just don’t think many clubs will go down that route as there is too much backlash from the media.”

“The law states that the referee is entitled to stop the game if he feels there is a head injury. However, the ball has to go back to the team that has possession. Nottingham Forest clearly had that possession.
