The powerful striker netted twice in the Buddies' thumping 4-0 win against St Johnstone.

Mikael Mandron insists it’s “humbling” to have delighted St Mirren fans dreaming of equalling their best ever top flight finish this season.

Saturday’s win saw St Mirren strengthen their grip on third spot as their impressive start to the campaign got straight back on track after a disappointing first defeat to Rangers. “It’s still very early in the season. As well as his brace, Mandron played a huge part throughout with his expert link-up play - including in Baccus’ breakthrough goal.

“I was happy to get two and I was involved in the first one we scored too. I tried to play Kiltie in and he set up Baccus for a great goal.
