Hainault Station, which is in east London, has been locked down.

Emergency crews rushed to Hainault, east London, after receiving reports of a man with a sword at 7am. Officers were also called to the Thurlow Gardens area of the city after receiving reports of a vehicle being driven into a property.

Wes Streeting, shadow health secretary and MP for Ilford North, said the emergency services are responding and one male has been detained. Transport for London’s website confirmed Hainault Tube station is closed “due to a police investigation in the area”, reports the Mirror. "We do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the wider community. We are not looking for more suspects. This incident does not appear to be terror-related."
