A man whose boyfriend died of cancer has called on Twitter to abandon its plans to shut down accounts which have fallen out of use.
His partner, Adam Packer, often looks at Dean’s Twitter account to remember the man he loved. Dean’s feed is a fierce testament to the power of human resilience that’s brimming with humour, defiance and warmth., which will delete profiles which have not been used in six months or more. ‘He set up his own own LGBT publication called HISKIND magazine and wrote for other publications on a range of topics such as masculinity, LGBT issues or stories about his cancer treatment.‘The announcement of Twitter’s new policy provoked a lot of emotion for me. Dean lived a lot of his life on social media and his career was facilitated through Twitter and other social networks.‘It gives me a lot of comfort to look back at the things he achieved, hear his voice and see pictures of us together.
