A man who violated tragic teenager Amber Gibson's body has admitted grabbing a former partner by the throat. Stephen Corrigan, 45, seized Debbie Hamill and pinned her against a wall during a row in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire.
Corrigan appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted assaulting Hamill on an unspecified date in 2006. Sheriff Liam Murphy handed him a four month sentence which will run alongside his nine-year term for touching and moving Amber's body in Cadzow Glen in Hamilton. "The complainer was struggling to breathe and when he let her go she immediately fell to the floor while he jumped into a taxi and disappeared."
Ian Scott, defending, said: "The allegation came to light because the accused had been arrested in respect of quite a high profile Hamilton case which involved the murder of a young woman.
