The family of a retired police officer who was bludgeoned with a hammer are appalled his assailant is now allowed on the streets for two hours a week.
Mr Clowes’ loved ones were reassured his 28-year-old tormentor would be detained indefinitely for psychiatric treatment and would never be able to harm anyone else. Ms Flynn says he had been released from Harplands Hospital to self medicate because staff thought it was safe – six weeks before attacking Mr Clowes.
