Kylian Mbappe? Manchester United might want to set their sights a little lower...

The headline was Kylian Mbappe, of course, and that isfrom the Daily Mirror, who claim that Manchester United are one of the few clubs ‘possessing the financial might to pay the £150million-plus transfer fee to land him’.

We are finding it a tad difficult to believe he is going to give up a title race and a Champions League campaign for a battle for fourth, mind. Maybe United need to have an ‘even more attainable’ target like Ivan Toney. It always seemed a tad fanciful that Ronaldo would have an option among the European superpowers and the idea has been dismissed by Christian Falk, who is the face and voice of Bild and probably the man with the best contacts at Bayern Munich.

Man Utd to join Arsenal in race for Shakhtar Donetsk wonderkid in JanuaryManchester United have joined Arsenal in the transfer race to sign Ukrainian starlet Mykhaylo Mudryk. This isn’t the first time Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag has been interested in him, either… You have Sancho you d!ck😭😭 Driving the price up... Imagine Mudryk leaving Shakhtar for a mid team like Manshitster United!😂😂😂 What a downgrade!😱😱😱 I have long admired this kid. Although I am a bit sad that he is another left sided player which United already have a lot of. But if he can play the 10 role as well as he does on the left, I would take him everyday. Though I think the priority for United should be a Striker now

'He's entitled to air his grievance' - Souness defends Ronaldo over controversial Man Utd interviewGraeme Souness has defended Cristiano Ronaldo over his interview and thinks the Man Utd striker is 'entitled to air his grievance'. He's entitled to air those grievances, but surely his contract has some clauses about bringing the club into disrepute. If I was that scathing about my employer in the national press I'd expect to be fired. Maybe that was his plan after all?
