A manhunt has been launched after a man fled following a crash with a police car and threatened officers with a blade as armed cops descended on a Scots supermarket.
Cops say the man threatened them with a bladed weapon before making off. A 34-year-old woman was also arrested in connection with alleged disorder and road traffic offences following the collision.Armed cops were seen swarming the street at around 8pm. Local resident David McDonald told the Record: "The police activity was on Victoria Street in Blantyre. Roads were locked at Asda at Glasgow Road. There was a large police presence, and statements advising people to stay home, as they had the dog handlers out in force."
